The National Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted five resolutions stressing the government to ensure the elimination of terrorism, abolishing of the system of mark up and taking steps to pull Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) out of crisis.

According to sources, the resolution calling for the elimination of terrorism came a little over a day after the killing of two senior military officials and a soldier in Upper Dir in an attack claimed by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The resolution relating to revival of the PSM was suggested after reports emerged stating the production cycle at the country’s largest industrial complex appeared to have come to a halt, mainly because of non-availability of raw material and severe financial crunch.

The resolutions were moved by Beelum Hasnain, Naeema Kishwer Khan and Saman Sultana Jaffri.

The fourth resolution was moved by the Maulana Ameer Zaman emphasising the government to establish an agricultural university in Balochistan’s Loralai region. The fifth resolution was moved by Sher Akbar Khan urging the government to make arrangements for supply of Sui Gas to Buner district.

  1. After listening to various government officials, both at federal as well as provincial level, it appears Pakistan is the only country in the world where government act as apologist of the killers of its serving General.

  2. Earlier I thought it was just PTI and the godfathers of the Taliban, such as JI, JUI-F, JUI-S etc., that were apologetic and sympathisers of these terrorists. It is now more than transparent that Nawaz Sharif is in fact miles ahead of them
