PESHAWAR – Police on Monday took into custody four foreigners, believed to be US nationals, on charges of having incomplete documents and driving vehicles with fake registration numbers, but later set them free on the request of the US Consulate, police said. The men were arrested when moving in two bullet-proof jeeps in the University Town area on Abdara Road without any security guards. They also did not bother to inform the police station concerned about their movement, which is mandatory for foreigners .
Police said they stopped two bullet-proof vehicles with tinted glasses and found four foreigners inside without security protocol and fake registration number plates. The people inside the vehicles also refused to provide valid immigration documents and identification cards. A little while later US Consulate officials arrived on the scene and the foreigners were taken to the University Town Police Station. However, they were allowed to go with a warning. The accused were identified as Evan Andry, Kleftn Jeffery, Jemoty Vesley and Christopher Beladue.
