Decent attitude important for success in policing affairs: IGP

By maintaining a decent attitude via listening to complaints with politeness, police officials can help fully address the complainant’s grievances.
This was stated by Islamabad Police Inspector General (IG) Sikandar Hayat while addressing police personnel at the Police Line Headquarters’ Police Darbar. Headquarters DIG Khalid Khattak, Security DIG Jan Muhammad, Operations AIG Sultan Azam Temuri, AIG Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui, SSP Muhammad Rizwan, Traffic SSP Dr Moeen Masood, SSP Sajid Kiani, SSP Malik Matloob and other senior police officials were also present at the occasion.
Sikandar categorically asked all the police officials to focus on resolving the public’s complaints by taking every possible step to provide maximum relief to the citizens.
He urged all the police personnel to behave appropriately with their seniors and subordinates and to use all available resources honestly.
Furthermore, he said that a zero-tolerance policy on corruption would be pursued.
Sikandar stressed on making Pakistan “stronger by accomplishing professional duties with responsibility and by foiling out the nefarious designs of mischievous elements from our society”.
He said that the Islamabad police had rendered countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism and its personnel had averted many threats with courage and bravery.
“We are proud of Islamabad police’s martyrs who ensured the protection of the lives and property of the citizens,” he added.
Moroever, he said that the Islamabad police had initiated several projects for the welfare of its staff, and added that the personnel of the force would be provided with better accommodation and health facilities in the near future.
The IG said that projects for the welfare of policemen were his top-priority, and added that more steps would be taken to encourage the policemen.
Furthermore, Sikandar said that the issues of duty timings and leaves were being streamlined, and added that a pick-and-drop service had also been started.
“The Islamabad police force is aware of the challenges it faces and every problem will be countered through capacity building of the force and through cooperation of the community,” he added.
