A woman died on Thursday morning at Masood Hospital, Kalma Chowk due to the negligence of doctors.
As per details, Ishrat, 50, a resident of Makkah Colony was diagnosed with tumour and was due for operation at the hospital. The husband of the deceased, Faiz said that his wife was being treated by Dr Nabila in Ijaz Hospital. He said that as the operation was expensive at Ijaz Hospital; thus Dr Nabila took Rs 40,000 from him and operated at Masood Hospital. He stated that the doctor fled right after the surgery and claimed that his wife died due to pain.
Moreover, Faiz said that when he contacted the hospital’s management they did not cooperate. The family members of the deceased protested against the doctor and the hospital staff and blocked the main road and burnt tyres.
Police reached the spot and negotiated with the protesters and filed an FIR against the doctor. Further investigation is underway.
