In the backdrop of increasing commercial activities in residential areas, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) board has approved amendments in municipal by-laws after 40 years. Now, the citizens have to get a license from the Directorate of Municipal Administration of the civic authority before starting any commercial activity in the federal capital. The licenses will have the whole information of the business and the business-holder. According to the amendments, a licensee would not be allowed start any other business in the federal capital and if he is found involved in any other business, his license would be cancelled and shop would be sealed. It is pertinent to mention here that hundreds of houses are illegally used for commercial activities in the federal capital.
