Pakistan Navy on Sunday celebrated Naval Day paying tribute to the outstanding and unforgettable bravery of its forces in the Indo-Pak war of 1965.
It should be mentioned that on September 6 and 7 the armed forces of Pakistan heroically defended their motherland and on September 8 the naval forces were successful in destroying the enemy’s main network and ships in Dwarka. This strike is often famously known as 18th attack on Somnath Temple.
PNS Babar, Khyber, Badar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, Alamgir, Tipu Sultan and Ghazi also took part in different operations and triumphed over the enemy by hoisting the green flag at Gujrat harbor.
Pakistan Navy now transformed itself to become a reckonable force. It has largely indigenized warships’ and submarines’ construction extended its reach and power to the far extents of the Indian Ocean and is an important player in region’s collaborative maritime security.
Sources said Pakistan Navy is fully equipped to meet all kinds of challenges that exist across the maritime threat spectrum.
The day dawned with special prayers in all naval mosques for solidarity and integrity of the country. Quran khawanis were also held for the martyrs and wreaths were laid at martyrs’ memorials at different places. All ships and establishments were decorated and illuminated in accordance with naval traditions.
