Lahore – On the fourth day of the grand drive initiated against encroachments, the City District Government Lahore retrieved government land worth rupees 220 million. An accumulated total of 35.5 KM has been cleared from illegal extensions in all towns. As many as 541 encroached walking areas (thar’ay), 164 illegally extended staircases and 38 illegal shops were demolished. Around 356 illegally extended shades and 244 illegal signboards were destroyed. From nine towns, 28 trucks filled with illegal materials were transported to government go-downs.
