JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman on Monday termed the three-month performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa “a farce”, saying the “promised change” of the PTI proved to be a “mirage”.

According to Fazl’s spokesman, Jan Achakzai, the JUI-F chief said the PTI’s government’s three-month-record was a tall order of broken promises, excuses, and complaints.

“Promises of drones being shot down, NATO supply stopped, the CM’s House turning into a library and protocols disbanded, were conveniently forgotten,” he added.

Fazl said corruption and commissions in police, revenue, excise and taxation departments working continued unabated despite expiry of 90 days.

“Routine transfers and postings of liking are taking place under the incompetent leadership of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.”

He said “development funds” to the tune of over one crore rupees were issued to PTI MPAs despite tall claims made to the contrary, adding that provision of justice claims rang hollow.

“The KP government is taking political mileage of the mobile court scheme which is in fact only a stunt to ensure compliance with the high court’s chief justice’s ruling, so no changes on the ground are visible in this regards as well,” he added.

Fazl also questioned the Information Disclosure bill saying the PTI enacted the ordinance as a condition for funds from a Germany-based dubious NGO. “An ombudsman can do the same job for Rs 50,” the JUI-F chief said.

He said promises of de-weaponisation of the province and local bodies’ elections within three months remained on paper. “Even local bodies draft proved a farce, skipping PTI’s own ‘rural governance vision’ – collecting land revenues, agricultural income tax, and registration fees at the council and district levels”, he added.

The JUI-F chief said coalition partners were giving leaks to the media about a 20-member strong forward block in the KP government and potential signs of no confidence moves against the government.

Fazl said the KP government’s days were numbered.
