Rain likely in Punjab, KP, Kashmir, GB: Met Dept

The Meteorological Department on Monday forecast rain and thunderstorms in isolated places of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) during the next 24 hours.

According to the synoptic situation, a seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Weak currents from the Arabian Sea are reaching the upper parts of the country.

Over the next 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Malakand, Hazara and Peshawar divisions whereas hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country, especially Sindh and Balochistan.

The highest temperature recorded during the last 24 hours was 41 degree Celsius at Dadu, Bhakkar, Sukkur and Nurpur Thal.

The maximum temperature recorded in Islamabad was 34 C, Lahore 37 C , Karachi 32 C, Peshawar 36 C, Quetta 34 C, Murree 22 C and Muzaffarabad 35 C.

The amount of rainfall recorded in Lahore was 20 millimeters, Chakwal 15, Gujrat 9, Sialkot 5, Abbotabad 3, Astore 2 and 1 millimeter in Murree, Dir, Hunza and Gilgit.
