Indian troops again resorted to unprovoked firing at Nakial sector along the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, creating panic among locals on Monday.
Firing from across the border continued to target Nakial sector in Kotli, with Pakistan Army also responding to the firing from time to time.
According to reports, the people have locked themselves inside their houses while schools have announced holidays after the firing from Indian border forces. However, no loss of human life was reported, though unprovoked firing has been irking the locals.
The continuous violation of ceasefire agreement has terrorised residents of the area. The two countries agreed to a ceasefire along the LoC in November 2003, but skirmishes have flared across the heavily-militarised Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border in Kashmir, in recent weeks, with both sides blaming each other for having violated the agreement.

Pakistan's major mistake was in Musharraf sending his troops to Kargil. Not only we had to retreat – we lost our image in the world's eyes. Since then we have been under pressure to show the world we are not a failed nation. Despite our efforts we have not been convincing. Most of the terrorist outfits continue in Pakistan and send their jihadis to India for bombing. We continuue to provide shelter to mafia criminals like Dawood Ibrahim. What was most shameful – we were sheltering Osama Bin Laden all along till his death with the tacit support of the Intelligence agencies. And now we have provoked them by starting firing along LOC and now they are retaliating strongly we are now complaining. If our Government cannot control our Army and Intelligence agency then I fear a day will come when US will come and take charge of Govt.
