Roll number slips for medical entrance test (MCAT) will be issued to the students from September 2 to September 7.

University of Health Sciences (UHS) Regional Coordination Officer Syed Basil Sajjad said that the 150-minute test will start at 9:00 am.

He said the candidates should report to their centres at least an hour before the start of the test. “They must take their admittance cards with them as nobody will be allowed to enter the examination centre without a valid card issued by the UHS,” he said.

He urged the candidates to reach their respective centres on time as nobody would be allowed inside after 8:15 am.

The centres allocated for the test in Rawalpindi are Siddiq Public School, Ideal Cambridge School, Government Postgraduate College, 6th Road and Government College for Boys, 6th Road, while in Attock the examination centre would be Cadet College Hassanabdal.

The officer said that the entrance test would consist of a single paper with 220 multiple-choice questions (MCQ), divided into four sections Physics (44 questions), Chemistry (58 questions), English (30 questions) and Biology (88 questions).

“The candidates are not allowed to bring calculators, mobile phones or any notes with them inside the examination hall except blue ballpoint pens. No markers, pointers or pencils are allowed,” he added.

He informed that the entrance test is a standardised admission test which is mandatory for admission to MBBS and BDS program in all public and private sector and is administered by UHS Lahore.

Moreover, he also said that candidates holding domicile of any district of Punjab and the federal capital area will appear for the entrance test in Rawalpindi. “For admission against open merit seats the entrance test is mandatory. Gilgit-Baltistan candidates will appear in the test against reserved seats in government medical and dental institutes of the province,” he opined.

Furthermore, he informed that there was no age limit for the candidates adding a well organised center was established in Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC), where the entrance test kit containing information booklet, application form and admittance card was available till August 30.

He said that highly professional and dedicated staff is working at RMC under his supervision and in the presence of Administration Officer Incharge Dr Muarraf. “The test in Punjab will be held on September 22 and the final merit score of each candidate will be determined through a combination of their matriculation, intermediate and entrance test marks in a 10:40:50 ratio, respectively,” he added.
