A policeman was killed and another injured late on Thursday night when unidentified armed motorcyclists opened fire at a police van in the Khawaja Gang area of Mardan district.
As a result, Constable Zubair was killed on the spot while Ayaz sustained injuries.
The dead and injured were taken to Mardan District Headquarters Hospital.
