Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed urged the United Nations (UN) and the international community on Wednesday to take notice of India’s violation of the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.

“Indian Border Security Force’s repeated violations of the LoC ceasefire agreement are tantamount to triggering a war in the region,” he said.

Addressing a press conference at the Kashmir House, Majeed said the governments of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were against war and wanted to solve the Kashmir issue according to the UN resolution.

He said the UN should send an observer mission to the LoC, adding that at least 15 civilians had been martyred so far and the Pakistan Army had also suffered losses due to the recent episodes of unprovoked firing by the Indian forces on the 750-kilometre-long LoC.
