Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s statement that the May 11 elections were not free and fair, as baseless.
In a statement‚ he said domestic and foreign institutions had declared the general elections impartial and transparent.
Rashid said the ECP was established after consensus by the previous regime and not the present government,
He said Khan should not challenge the authority of the independent Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), adding that the judiciary‚ media and ECP were independent institutions and the government had no control over them.
