Three Railways employees were killed when a bogie of a train got derailed and hit them while they were busy in repair work in Karachi on Monday.
The down track remained blocked for several hours due to the accident.
According to details, the three employees were busy in repairing a track in Jung Shahi near Karachi when they were hit by a derailed goods bogie of Karachi Express coming from Lahore, killing them on the spot.
A senior official of the Railways said the deceased were Abdullah, Ibrahim and Shakoor.
The victims’ families held a protest demonstration against the incident and demanded investigation into the tragic incident.
Meanwhile, Railways Workers Union chairman Manzoor Razi expressed grief over the tragic incident and demanded the government pay Rs 2 million to each victim’s family.
