Veena, Veena everywhere!

Bollywood starlet Veena Malik knows the art of hitting the headlines time and again and can go to any extent for this purpose. Now she has partnered with Finnish artist Vesa Kivinen who will paint a series of portraits directly on her skin. She has voluntarily allowed the well-known Finnish artist to use her body as canvas to paint richly colored themes directly on to her body. The artworks Vesa Kivinen will paint of Malik’s body are labelled as a “dialogue between three dimensional physiology and gesture coupled with the aesthetics of two dimensional painting that coalesce into a singular object of art” and are believed to “explore themes from ancient & religious traditions to our contemporary global melting pot”. Veena Malik upbeat about her new venture “I feel very glad that Finland’s well known visual artist Vesa Kivinen had called me to work with him. I am here just for the love of art” a jubilant Veena Malik said. Meanwhile the superstar took audiences by surprise in ‘Supermodel’. “When I narrated the lip-lock scene to Veena, she refused to do it. I had to convince her a lot for that scene. There are around three to four lip-lock scenes between Veena and Ashmit in the film,” the film’s director Navin Batra told media. “Both the actors were not on talking terms when they shot for the intimate scene, but they shot for the scene. But after a point they were not comfortable, so I had to cut a few scenes,” he added. The director purposely cast the controversial couple. He said: “Veena suited the role and they are the most controversial and best selling couple. Yes, it was difficult to convince both of them, but despite not being on talking terms, they accepted the role and took it professionally.”While Veena plays a supermodel in the film, Ashmit will be seen as a photographer in the film slated for Sep 27 release.
