Clashes broke out in central Cairo on Tuesday when supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi came under attack as they marched to the Interior Ministry. Supporters of the new military-installed government hurled stones at the marchers and threw bottles at them from balconies. Police then fired tear gas at the pro-Morsi protesters. A few thousand pro-Morsi protesters were taking part in the march when the trouble erupted. Local residents taunted them, calling them terrorists and saying they were not welcome. They then began throwing stones at them. The Morsi supporters responded by also hurling rocks. Women and children marchers fled the scene in panic. Two men wielding machetes were seen chasing marchers. The protesters are calling for the reinstatement of Morsi, who was overthrown by the military on July 3 and is now being held at undisclosed location.

  1. Egyptian army has proved once again that it is capable of conquering the Egyptian unarmed citizens. Well done, an army that cannot defend the country against foreign aggression always commits aggression and violence on its own people.

  2. Egyptian armed forces launched military style attack from on unarmed protestors, killing over 350 innocent. This defeated army runs away from Israeli soldiers, but can kill, rob and maim unarmed civilians, with the help of USA, at their back. The role of USA is not only shameful but openly hypocritical. They must stop the mantra of democracy every where, and proclaim that they believe in military regimes for Muslim countries, so as to protect their vested interests.
