Lieutenant General Qamar Bajwa was made Rawalpindi corps commander.
The corps commander would take charge of his office on August 14.
According to the ISPR, Lt-Gen Khalid Nawaz, corps commander Rawalpindi, will retire on Tuesday. He will be replaced with Lt-Gen Qamar Bajwa.
The new corps commander will assume the charge of his office on Independence Day.
According to military sources, Maj-Gen Amir Riaz has been appointed the Military Operations DG.
The seat fell vacant after Maj-Gen Ashfaq was promoted.
