Bombs defused in Peshawar, Charsadda

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel on Monday defused two bombs in Peshawar and Charsadda.
Peshawar Station House Officer (SHO) Riaz Ali Shah said the homemade bomb was planted in an empty plot along the road near the Hayatabad police station.
Upon receiving information about the bomb, security forces called BDS personnel to the area who successfully defused the explosive.
Separately, another bomb was defused near a police check post in Charsadda.
The BDS defused the three kilogram explosive near the check post in the Saro Kalley police precincts in Shabqadar area.
Saro Kalley police SHO Gul Shahid Khan said the pressure cooker bomb was planted on Yaka Ghund Road.
Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is the gateway to Pakistan s troubled FATA where troops have been locked for years in deadly battles with terrorists. The city has been labelled by Washington as the main sanctuary for al Qaeda and Taliban mercenaries in the country.
The cities have seen frequent attacks by militants in the past few years, with targets ranging from civilians to policemen and other law enforcement personnel.
