Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Friday said terrorist attacks in the last two months clearly indicated that terrorists wanted to raise provincial hatred and sectarian tensions.

Talking to reporters in Gujrat after the exchange of Eid greetings, Shujaat said there had been more than 60 terrorist attacks during the last two months that claimed the lives of many innocent citizens.

He said this trend was very dangerous for the country and all schools of thought should come together to deal with the terrorism issue.

Shujaat said the law and order in Balochistan was worsening every day and the government’s performance was nil.

He said the government should take all political parties along as it was not an issue of any one party or individual and everyone would have to contribute to find a solution.

To a question, Shujaat said the president-elect’s statement before election that he would not seek the vote of PML-Q clearly indicated that he was biased.

The PML-Q president said this also negated his assertion that after the elections he would be the president of the people and all political parties.

On the issue of energy crisis, he said the government had raised the power tariff for industrial consumers.

“Domestic consumers will face a rise in power tariff next month, further increasing inflation,” he said.

Shujaat said the PML-Q would fully participate in the local bodies elections.
