Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif offered Eid prayers with the flood victims of Rajanpur.
Later, he freely mingled with the calamity-stricken people and distributed relief items and Eidi among them.
Addressing the flood victims at Lalgarh, the chief minister said that he was with the flood-hit people again as he was at the time of floods in 2010. He said that maximum resources were being provided for rehabilitation of the flood affectees. The chief minister said that a permanent solution will be found to the problem of floods. He said that he will spare no effort for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims.
He said that relief and rehabilitation operation for the flood stricken people will be carried out even more vigorously than the previous years. He said that a survey is being conducted to assess the damages to the crops and houses and financial assistance will be provided to the stricken people to compensate their losses. The chief minister announced financial assistance of Rs 0.5 million each to the families of those who were killed in the flood and said that he equally shared their grief.
UNANIMOUS NATIONAL POLICY AGAINST TERRORISM SOON: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the government would take all stakeholders into confidence to curb terrorism and extremism from the country.
Talking to journalists in the city‚ he said an All Parties Conference was being convened soon to formulate a unanimous national policy against terrorism.
The chief minister condemned terrorism incidents and stressed upon unity among the people to eliminate this menace.
Lauding the services of the SOS Village, the chief minister said it was playing an important role to help the destitute children become respectful people of the society and to play an effective role in nation-building.
He said it was a moral obligation and national duty to ensure participation of the destitute and helpless children in festive moments of Eid. Earlier, the chief minister distributed gifts and “Eidi” among the children of SOS Village. He also cut a cake on the occasion.
SHAHBAZ AT HOLY FAMILY HOSPITAL: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the Rawalpindi Holy Family Hospital where he inquired about the health of the children admitted there.
Speaking on the occasion‚ he said that it was the utmost effort of the government to provide the best healthcare to its people. Shahbaz directed the health secretary to provide a ventilator and a CT scan machine to the hospital. Shahbaz also distributed bouquets‚ gifts and Eidi among the patients.
SHAHBAZ CONDOLES MEHMOOD’S DEATH: Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Hafiz Hussain Mehmood, son of Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly. The chief minister went to the residence of Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and condoled the untimely death of his young son.
