At least 21 policemen, including DIG Operations Quetta Fayyaz Ahmed Sumbal were killed and 50 others injured in a suicide blast in Police Lines Quetta on Thursday.
The blast occurred in a lawn of the mosque where preparations were being made for the funeral prayer of Station House Officer (SHO) City Mohibullah, who was shot dead earlier in the day.
Sources said senior police officials were also attending the funeral prayer.
The DIG Operations was seriously injured and was rushed to CMH hospital Quetta, where he succumbed to injuries.
The condition of some injured is said to be critical. An eyewitness said the deceased included SSP and DSP level officials.
According to Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) 8kg explosive material was used in the blast and that it was a suicide attack.
Talibans are free to do whatever they like. They have so many friends in judiciary and government. Now mullahs will appear on tv and tell the people that America is involved in this bombing.

Total failure of provincial even intelligence reports are about possible attacks still nothing done or will be done by local government. History has shown appeasement never works when dealing with murdering barbarians. The way things are currently going the terrorists will also be paying a visit to the Sharif Brothers, Imran Khan, Kayani etc. Only once the horror and evil of terrorism befalls upon them will they realise that this is indeed Pakistan’s war and their war.
Mullah Taliban sympathisers such as Fazler Rehman and Manawar Hasan etc should be barred from politics. The Taliban and their like are the enemies of the state. And these charlatons are state traitors who should be tried for treason for siding with these savages. We should take a leaf out of Bangladeshs book and ban JI and other mullah political parties for causing dissension and extremism throughout the length and bredth of Pakistan.
