Outrageous courtroom antics land four lawyers licence-less

The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) suspended the licences of four lawyers on the Lahore High Court (LHC)’s reference for initiating action against the lawyers on charges of misconduct.
A three-member PBC Disciplinary Committee of comprising of Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, Mian Mazhar Hussain and Rana Ibrar Ahmad Khan held Tuesday’s proceedings against the four lawyers namely Syed Jawad Raza, Muhammad Nadeem Anjum, Fayyaz Ali Butt and Malik Javed Sabir.
After suspension of their licences, they will not be able to continue their practice as advocates. During the proceedings, the accused failed to appear before the committee.
The reference said that a Lahore Senior Civil Judge Chahudry Farrukh Hussain lodged a complaint to the LHC against the lawyers for creating a scene in his court. On July 15 Jawad started shouting in the court, questioning the judge’s order against Jawad’s clients.
He was asked to maintain the decorum required by the court but he started abusing the judge, used filthy and uncivilised language, extending threats and said that he would teach the judge a lesson.
Later, he and the other three lawyers assaulted Farrukh and caused damage to public property.
