Unannounced power cuts in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi is once again making lives of the residents miserable, despite heavy rains in the country.

The citizens complained that unannounced load shedding is creating problems especially during iftar and sehr times.

Owing to the outages, some areas of Rawalpindi are facing severe shortage of water as well and forcing the residents to fetch water from far off areas. They said that Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) is not following the load shedding schedule. “IESCO ignores unnecessary use of electricity by commercial users and ends up doing unannounced load shedding,” said one of the residents.

The residents demanded the IESCO higher authorities to end the unannounced power cuts in the twin cities.
