Unidentified militants abducted and then killed 13 passengers of Punjab-bound buses in Balochistan’s Bolan district in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to police, the incident took place in Macch town of Bolan district where armed assailants kidnapped 22 passengers from five buses going to Rajanpur from Quetta.
The kidnappers gunned down 13 abducted passengers after identifying them as Punjabis and dumped their bodies in a nearby locality. The bodies were discovered on Tuesday morning.
Nine of the abducted people were released after identification.
The militants stopped seven passenger buses in district Bolan and allowed two Sindh-bound buses to go. The assailants checked the CNICs of passengers before frisking them away.
The victims, who have been identified, hailed from Sadiqabad, Rajanpur and other towns of Punjab.
Machh Assistant Commissioner Dr Kashif said passenger buses moving out of Balochistan are usually escorted by security personnel. However, a militant attack on an oil tanker in the same area led to crossfire between militants and the Balochistan Levies and Frontier Corps (FC), which kept the forces busy.
During the combat, one FC officer lost his life while two others were injured, Dr Kashif confirmed.
“Search operations in the area are continuing,” the assistant commissioner said.

Dam! There is no single day peace in country even situation in Afghanistan is much better then Pakistan at least there is peace in over all Afghanistan except some cities but in Pakistan except Punjab which situation is bit better then other three provinces.All three provinces and Gilgit-Baltistan are facing worst situation. Helplessness weakness and confusion of government is also reason terrorists are operating at peak which indicates situation is out of government,s control.
This tragedy is highly unfortunate and deplorable. In Baluchistan FC and intelligence agencies are conducting secret missions against the nationalist and terrorist elements. The affected elements try to settle their score by killing innocent people, which is barbaric and must be condemned by the civilized society.
I have seen that in Sindh & Balochistan since 70, unless these separatists are not totally annihilated there will be no peace. To keep Pakistan together only brutal force is the cure. If not Punjab will be an unfortunate landlocked country soon. The other provinces are on the way out.
I condemn these killings in strongest possible terms. In the past, we have seen shias being killed after identification. The killers usually hailed from Punjab or were people brainwashed by extremist organisations banned but based in Punjab. These organisations were befriended and patronised by Sharifs. Sharifs may have benefited from their relationship with these organisations plus the Talibans (who were also patronised by Shahbaz Sharif) but the problem has continued to grow. Now, perhaps some people from smaller provinces have come to a stage where they think they can take revenge from innocent Punjabis. Punjabism professed by Sharifs does not bode well for our future.
