The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) have come up with a comprehensive plan to control traffic on chand raat and Eid-ul-Fitr.

Under the traffic plan, more traffic wardens will be deployed in main city areas and a control room has been set up at Traffic Police Headquarters to monitor the situation.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Superintendent (SP) Police Ishtiaq Hussain Shah said, “All efforts will be made to control traffic on city roads, especially on the eve of Eid and strict action will be taken against one-wheelers.” Traffic wardens have been directed to impound motorcycles of one-wheelers besides registration of cases against them, he added. He urged the citizens, especially the parents to play an active role to curb rash driving and one-wheeling, a life threatening sport popular among youngsters.

Moreover, all traffic officers have been instructed to remain on active duty to ensure smooth flow of traffic. The SP informed that special arrangements have been made for parking of vehicles near Mosques, Imam Bargahs and other religious places for security purposes.

Meanwhile, strict action has been ordered against unregistered vehicles and use of black tinted papers. The CTO has directed traffic wardens to work with dedication and commitment to ensure smooth traffic flow and to facilitate the citizens.
