Despite introducing computerised system for admissions, results and other tasks, Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE) is using the same old manual system.
On the orders of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif the computerised system of RBISE was given on contract.
According to the board officials, the RBISE chairman had awarded the contract of ensuring maintenance and operating the computerised system for Rs5.76 million in 2012, while the same contract was awarded for Rs2.3 million in 2011. The officials said that although the education board was paying huge amounts of money for computerised system but the officials have to do the whole work manually.
They said it was wastage of funds and it would have been better if the system was made operational through regularly appointed professional staff and implemented in a phased manner.
