Police on Monday arrested 12 bootleggers with huge quantities of wine and stolen items in a crackdown launched on the instructions of SSP Muhammad Rizwan.
Special police teams under the supervision of ASP Rizwan Gondal, raided various houses in Sectors F-6, F-7/1 and F-7/3. Police arrested bootleggers Malik Tariq, Jaan Muhammad, Usman, Sabir, Javed Masih, Liaqat Ali and Shahid Sharif and recovered 131 bottles of whiskey and wine from their possesion.
Meanwhile, ASI Tariq Rauf from Shahzad Town Police Station arrested Shafqat, Ghulam Ishaq and Aurangzeb and recovered stolen motorbike from them. ASI Tanveer arrested Anjum for carrying a 30 bore pistol, while Crime Investigation Police (CIA) ASI Javed Iqbal arrested bootlegger Muhammad Ijaz with 168 cans of beer.
