Zardari and Ahmadinejad discuss bilateral issues

President Asif Zardari on Sunday met former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.
They discussed bilateral ties and matters of mutual interest. President Zardari congratulated the outgoing Iranian president over peaceful elections and smooth transfer of power which he said speaks of the maturity of the Iranian democracy.
The president praised the role of Mahmud Ahmadinejad in further strengthening Pak-Iran relations during his tenure. He said that various mega projects inked during the tenure of Ahmadinijad symbolised Pak-Iran fraternal relations and expressed the hope that all bilateral projects would be completed at the earliest.
Ahmadinijad thanked the president for his visit and expressed the hope that the momentum to further strengthen Pak-Iran relations would continue by the new leadership and that the equation would gain strength with each passing day.
