Centaurus’s security beefed up

The Centaurus Tower has been installed with the latest radio frequency identification (RFID) and integrated state of the art (ISA) security and fire fighting systems.

According to Security Manager Colonel (r) Misbah, security measures such as use of the latest technology, including RFID and ISA secuirty and fire fighting systems were important at the mega-storey Centaurus, which comprises a five-star hotel, corporate complex, two residencial towers and an international standard shopping mall.

Misbah said the security included outer and inner cordons, the latest metal and explosive detectors, VR/DVR systems, barriers, vehicles under surveillance cameras, CCTV cameras, electronic gadgets, sniffing dogs at gates, baggage scanners and walk-through gates. “Some 450 security staff performs duty round the clock at Centaurus, which will become a hub of corporate, commercial and social activities in the future,” he added.

Another official said that the Centaurus had been constructed on 6.59 acres of land and the 41-storey building could withstand an earthquake of 9.5 magnitude. “The building was designed by ATKINS, which has constructed skyscrapers like Burj-ul-Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Twisting Tower and 21st Century Tower, “he added.

According to President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Zafar Bakhtawari, the Centaurus would soon become a symbol of modern Pakistan.
