Recommendations for the extradition of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, presented by a taskforce formed by the Interior Ministry, have been sent to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for final approval.

A private TV channel reported on Thursday that the recommendations were forwarded after the Interior Ministry and the Foreign Office declared them agreeable.

Under the supervision of National Crisis Management Cell Director General Tariq Lodhi, the three-member taskforce presented the 14 recommendations to the Interior Ministry that were later sent to the PM.

According to the channel, a letter for the extradition of the Pakistani scientist would be written to the US before Eidul Fitr after Nawaz accorded it his approval.
