Around 27 new cases of measles were reported during the last 24 hours in the province including two from the city. The total number of reported measles cases has reached 22,971 in the last seven months.
According to Health Department officials, at least 192 deaths have been reported so far while most deaths occurred in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Kasur and Sialkot.
Officials appealed to parents to get their children upto five years of age vaccinated against meassles without any delay and cooperate with vaccinating teams.
Meanwhile, EPI Focal Person Dr Younas said the recent drive in five high risk districts of Punjab received good response from people.
