ACLC nabs smuggler in guise of govt official

Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad police on Tuesday foiled a drug smuggling bid and recovered 5 kilogrammes of hashish from a person posing as a government servant, trying to transport drugs from Abbottabad to Rawalpindi.

On a tip off, Superintendent (SP) (Investigation) Mustansar Feroze constituted special teams headed by ACLC In-charge Rukhsar Medhi including Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Afzal and Shafqat, ASI Naeem-ul-Hasnain to check cars in their areas. One of the teams stopped a vehicle (GT-514) for checking near Dhoke Jilani area in Bhara Kahu police pecincts. The team recovered 5 kilogrammes of hashish, wrapped in packets and concealed inside various cavities of the car. The person identified as Muhammad Adnan posed to be a Customs official and confessed to supplying drugs from Abbottabad to Rawalpindi.

He also confessed his involvement in various car lifting incidents including drug pushing in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Further investigation is underway.

 

TWO NABBED: Ramna Police arrested two people red handed involved in selling diesel openly and also seized a Suzuki vehicle including 60 litres of diesel from their possession.

The two were identified as Muhammad Mumtaz and Suleman and were found selling diesel in a Suzuki bearing registration number IDF-2265. Ramna Police apprehended them on the spot.

Police have registered a case and started investigation.
