Five butchers fined for selling unhygienic meat

On the instructions of Additional Duty Commissioner General (ADCG) Ali Randhawa, City Assistant Commissioner (AC) Khalid Javed Goria conducted raids, checked rates and meat quality and imposed fines on five butchers.

Raids were conducted at Pirwadhai and Khyaban-e-Sir Syed and five butchers were found involved in profiteering and selling unhygienic meat. Fines of Rs 25,000 were imposed on them. The butchers were warned that strict action in accordance with the law would be taken against violators and unhealthy and unhygienic meat would be discarded.

The AC along with TMA officers also visited Sasta Ramadan Bazaar in Khyaban-e-Sir Syed.

He said, “Raids would be conducted throughout the remaining month of Ramadan to ensure provision of daily use items on controlled rates and violators will not be spared.”
