Water Recovery Section of Cantonment Board Rawalpindi has issued 16,000 notices to water bill defaulters and have directed them to submit their outstanding dues within 3 days.
Details said that the board has warned in notice that it will disconnect the water supply if outstanding dues will not be cleared, while 400 connections have already been disconnected.
According to sources, there are a total of 36,000 water connections in the residential areas of Cantt and Special Recovery Cell has been established on the directions of higher authorities to recover water dues. The staff has been instructed to escalate recovery from 16,000 defaulters owing millions to the board.
Action against illegal connections and water theft will also be taken.
