The Balochistan High Court (BHC) expressed its annoyance over the government’s lack of interest in the Akbar Bugti murder case.

The court took up a plea to transfer the case to Islamabad.

BHC Chief Justive Qazi Faez Essa heard the case in which the advocate general requested more time for its preparation.

The court was annoyed over this and said that the provincial government was disinterested in the Akbar Bugti murder case.

The plea was not even signed by the chief secretary, the court indicated.

Essa remarked that the Balochistani government should communicate its stance on the transfer of this case to Islamabad and facilitate the court on the issue.

Essa was irked at the additional prosecutor general for failing to submit a reply on the matter.

The petition’s hearing was subsequently adjourned to August 24.

The request regarding the transfer of the case was made earlier by the Balochistan police.

Balochistan nationalist leader Akbar Khan Bugti was killed in a cave on 26th August 2006 during a military crackdown ordered by the President and Army Chief at the time Pervez Musharraf.
