Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s special cell formed to take action against power and gas thieves met at the WAPDA House on Sunday and reviewed the performance of different departments to eliminate power theft and to recover dues from those who indulged in plundering national resources.
The meeting was attended by FIA officers, DCOs, power and gas distribution company chief executives.
FIA officials told the executives of the power and gas departments to strictly direct their operational staff to cease their illegal dealings with power pilferers and help in identifying those indulging in illegal activities to recover dues in billions of rupees.
They said that power line losses of more than 28 percent were astonishing and held the opinion that operational staff of these utilities was involved in corruption.
It was made clear that those found involved this theft would not be spared and sent to jail.
