Sikandar Hayat new IGP Islamabad

Sikandar Hayat on Tuesday assumed charge of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad.

He has replaced IGP Bani Amin Khan who served on the post for more than two years. Sikandar Hayat served in Islamabad Police as Assistant Superintendent in the early 90s. Hayat has served as Superintendent (SP) Headquarters Rawalpindi, SP Mianwali, SP Jhelum, SP Muzaffargarh, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Special Branch Rawalpindi, District Police Officer (DPO) Bahawalpur and Multan.

Sikandar Hayat has also served as SSP Islamabad in 2005-07.He served as Joint Director General, Intelligence Bureau (IB) and was transferred to the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah in 2010 as minister.
