District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Talat Mehmood Gondal launched an operation against those involved in selling grocery items on high prices and issued notices against four price magistrates for sheer negligence.
On the directions of DCO, Special Price Magistrate checked 214 shopkeepers and also imposed fines of Rs 60,200 against 48 hoarders.
He also issued notices against 4 price magistrates Nawaz Zaman, Muhammad Safdar, Imtiaz Ahmed Katchi and Rehan Nawaz for showing negligence in their duties along with giving them warnings.
He said that strict action would be taken against those involved in breaking the law and adopting sluggish attitudes towards their duties.
