The government has requested the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to change the schedule of the presidential election‚ slated for August 6. The Ministry of Law and Justice in a letter to the commission has taken the plea that a number of members of parliament have proceeded to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and will return after Eidul Fitr. The commission is requested to reschedule the election to ensure maximum participation of the parliamentarians in the presidential election.
