FIA officials arrested for helping passengers travel on fake documents

On the directions of Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Nisar Ali Khan, three officials of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) were arrested for their involvement in a case of Pakistani passengers deported from Istanbul for possessing fake documents.

According to details, two men and one woman passenger were travelling to Paris via Istanbul three weeks ago on a foreign airline on fake documents were caught in Istanbul.

An inspector, an assistant sub-inspector and a constable were found guilty in helping these passengers travel on fake documents and get pass the immigration controls at Islamabad airport.

In addition to this, an assistant director was also removed from his post and departmental proceeding was being initiated against him.

The interior minister took notice of the case on Tuesday and directed the FIA DG to present a report and take action against the officials involved within 24 hours.
