The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Central Coordination Committee on Monday requested the federal government to take immediately rehabilitate the hundreds of internally displaced families of Lyari’s Kutchi community and take much needed steps to eradicate terrorism and violence from the brutality riddles city.
In a statement the committee announced what it called the “pathetic persecution” of Lyari’s Kutchi people. The committee stated that thousands of helpless men, women and children were being forced out of their homes, where they had resided for generations. Condemning the elements creating havoc in the locality, the MQM asked the Sindh and federal government to deal with this menace without delay in order to preserve the harmony and peace in the city.
The committee sympathised with the affected community and asked them not to lose hope as the party was pursuing their case till justice was attained.
MQM further appealed to the federal government to provide all the financial help and medical facilities required to aid the Kutchi community in their time of need.
