Labour minister visits Ramadan Bazaars

Punjab Minister for Labour Ashfaq Sarwar has directed the concerned authorities to ensure that fixed prices of items are displayed on the shops in Ramadan Bazaars.

During a visit to the Ramadan Bazaars he said that the promise of providing relief to the citizens through Sasta Bazaars made by the government would be fulfilled and every effort would be made to provide maximum relief to the citizens.

He along with MNAs, MPAs, Commissioner and District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi visited Sasta Ramzan bazaars set up near Nawaz Sharif Park, Haidri Chowk and Satellite Town. The provincial minister checked the prices of commodities of daily use and also inquired from the consumers about the prices, availability and quality of essential items.

MNAs and MPAs including Malik Ibrar Ahmed, Seema Jilani, Advocate Raja Hanif, Begum Zeb un Nisa, Tehseen Fawad, Lubna Rehan, Commissioner Khalid Masood Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner Habib Ullah Chaudhry, DCO Rawalpindi Talat Mehmood Gondal and other officers of the administration were also present.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that the Price Control Magistrates should conduct raids regularly against hoarders and profiteers. “No negligence on part of officials concerned with regard to availability, quality and prices of the essential commodities in Ramadan Bazaars would be tolerated,” he added.

The minister said that the Punjab chief minister has provided a subsidy of Rs 3.2 billion on flour and 10 kilograms of Wheat flour bag is being provided at subsidised rate of Rs 315.

He said that strict action in accordance with the law would be taken against profiteers by conducting regular raids in the bazaars.
