The Station House Officer (SHO) Tanvir Abbasi of Margalla Police Station on Friday informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) of First Information Report (FIR) being registered in missing person case.

The police are obtaining data of missing person Qazi Ibrahim’s cellular phone as a letter has also been written to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general in this regard. SHO Margalla informed the single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Shoukat Aziz Siddiqui who conducted the hearing of a plea.

The plea was filed by Aamira Riaz, resident of Lohi Bher, seeking registration of an FIR regarding her missing son Qazi Muhammad Ibrahim. To this, Justice Siddiqui remarked that it was the responsibility of the SHO to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.

The judge directed the SHO to investigate the whereabouts of the missing person and disposed of the case. During the course of hearing, Muhammad Tariq counsel for the petitioner apprised the bench that Ibrahim was kidnapped when he left for PWD Housing Society. He said that the police have so far failed to recover him despite lodging of the FIR. He said that his client’s son had no enmity with anyone and the family believed he might have been picked up by intelligence agencies.

“If he is in their custody, the family should be apprised of his whereabouts,” he maintained. Ibrahim works as a property estate dealer and his family includes his wife and two minor daughters.
