A tribute was paid to folk artist (Late) Sain Mushtaq on Monday at Lok Virsa for his meritorious services towards the promotion of Punjabi folk culture and music.
Executive Director (ED) Lok Virsa Khalid Javaid expressed deep sorrow on the demise of the artist and expressed condolences to the family praying for their courage.
The ED said, “Sain Mushtaq was among a few folk artists in Pakistan who dedicated his entire life for the promotion of folk music. He was also instrumental in giving a new dimension of singing to the mystic songs. He had been participating in Lok Virsa’s annual folk festivals known as Lok Mela since 1981 and winning recognition for his talent.”
He observed that Mushtaq represented Pakistan in various events and musical shows abroad and served to project the real cultural face and soft image of Pakistan abroad.
