Tauqir Sadiq likely to be brought back to Pakistan tomorrow

Former OGRA chairman Tauqir Sadiq is likely to be brought back to Pakistan on Sunday following his delivery by Dubai authorities to Interpol.

Media reports said the former OGRA chairman, who is the major accused in a mega corruption scam of Rs 82 billion, was produced in the Federal Court of Dubai on Thursday. Later, Dubai authorities handed him over to the Interpol. He will now be handed over by Interpol to a Pakistani investigation team.

Sources in NAB said Sadiq was likely to be brought back to Pakistan by a PIA flight on Sunday. Stringent security measures have been taken in this regard. He will be kept in a house in a posh locality of the federal capital that has been accorded the status of an investigation cell by NAB.

NAB has sent letters to the ASF DG, the Islamabad IG and the Interior Ministry to provide security to Sadiq.

Sources said Muhammad Ali, former chairman of the Security Exchange of Pakistan, and Commissioner Imtiaz Haider are likely to be apprehended following the arrest of Sadiq.
