Police to help WAPDA, SNGPL identify power, gas thieves: Punjab IG

Punjab Inspector General of Police Khan Baig on Tuesday said police officials will help WAPDA and the SNGPL identify power and gas thieves in their respective jurisdictions.

Addressing his maiden Regional Police Officer (RPO) Conference at the Central Police Office (CPO) here, Baig said, “All station house officers (SHOs) will not only help WAPDA and the SNGPL identify electricity and gas thieves in their jurisdictions but will also take stern action against the thieves.”

He also said lawyers, witnesses and complainants must be provided foolproof security in the courts premises.

“Since the uncertainty regarding postings and transfers in the Police Department is over, all the officers must move into the field to fight crime and provide protection to the life and property of the public,” the Punjab IG said.

He said in addition to the Counterterrorism Department (CTD), the entire police force should be prepared to confront the challenge of terrorism in Punjab.

  1. ha ha ha thats funny,the police have always been part of the problem,they are very selective of who they want to help or catch,but also the fact that powerful people and officials control the police.Its a mess created by the politicians
