CM announces investment board for Balochistan

Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Wednesday announced to establish Balochistan Investment Board and holding international donors conference to end speculation about the law and order in the province.
He said this during an assembly session chaired by Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Jan Jamali.
Making concluding remarks in the budget session, Dr Baloch stressed the need for improving trade with Iran and Afghanistan. The federal government would be approached in this regard, he said.
To the demands of the minority MPAs, he also announced to form a Minority Advisory Committee aimed at resolving the issue of the minorities.
Hailing the recommendations of the members of the house on budget for the fiscal year 2013-14, he said that in the light of the suggestions a road map for the future of the province would be finalised.
Refuting the allegation of misappropriation levelled by opposition leader Abdul Wasey, the CM said that a committee should be formed to investigate if he has released single penny from the CM’s funds since he assumed office of the chief executive.
“I am open to every member of the assembly and committee should bring the fact before this House,” he said.
About the internally displaced people of Dera Bugti, the CM reiterated that displaced tribes of the war-torn district would be rehabilitated in the area.
Regarding the Reko Dik and Sandak, he said that local population would be given priority in the jobs.
Expressing dismay over the condition of hospitals and report of sale of government medicines in open market, he directed health officials to take stern action against those responsible. “Those selling medicines meant for poor masses, deserve harsh treatment and should be sent to jail,” the CM emphasised.
To improve the poor health conditions, he also offer special package for all districts.” The MPAs should identify the areas where funds were needed in the health sector, I am ready to provide required funds,” he assured the house.
The CM underlined the need for bringing reforms in education and asked the house to launch campaign in their own constituency.
Earlier, members of the assembly drew attention of the leader of the House towards the poor condition of health, education, agriculture.
They stressed the need for improving law and order, saying unless peace is restored Millennium Development Goals could not be achieved in Balochistan.
They called for involving local people in the areas where development projects were being carried out.
The session was adjourned until Thursday (today).
