UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on Monday urged the government of Pakistan to take immediate measures on the perpetrators of the violent attack that led to 11 deaths, saying he was appalled by the killing.

Ban was appalled by the reported killing of a group of foreign climbers in the area of Gilgit-Baltistan and extended his condolences.

“While reiterating the support of the United Nations to the government of Pakistan in the face of terrorism and extremism, he urges it to take immediate measures to bring the perpetrators to justice and to ensure security,” his spokesman said.
