Ranbir Kapoor has been busy shooting Abhinav Kashyap’s ‘Besharam’ with his parents in a defunct mill compound in the city. TOI spent three hours with the actor and his parents, as they went through a gamut of expressions for a crucial sequence that involved a bunch of kids as well. Rishi and Neetu play cops in the film, and we managed to capture them in police uniform for the very first time. Ranbir was sporting a look inspired by Amitabh Bachchan in Lawaaris (including the unbuttoned shirt and a shock of chest hair). In between the shots, Ranbir would park himself on any dusty chair and ruminate. At times, he would just pick up his phone and go for a walk. But there were also times when he would crack jokes with the team and share pictures and messages with his mother. Interestingly, despite Ranbir’s superstar status, it is his dad Rishi who calls the shots and keeps everyone on their toes. In an earlier interview to this newspaper, Ranbir had said that at home, Rishi pretty much has the last word on everything… but only because he and his mother let him do so! The scenes had Ranbir engage with his parents in an emotional conversation and at times, fool around with the kids – almost 15 to 20 of them all aged seven to eight years or so.
